Production Manager
One of the UK’s leading food production manufacturers in its sector requires a Production Manager to enhance their UK operation, based in Retford (Nottinghamshire). You will be responsible for all staff deployed in the factory overseeing the safety in the factory, the quality of product being produced and factory efficiency and productivity. You will oversee the effective recruitment and provision of manpower and training of key skills, ensuring that manpower resource is competent and correctly targeted to the relevant duties. You will be required to match the sales forecast and immediate sales demand to short and long-term production planning.

Duties and Responsibilities Factory Activity:
1. To manage health and safety issues for the site, in accordance with Company standards by constantly promoting a safe working environment, through effective communication, conducting regular safety inspections and ensuring the correct use and availability of personal protective equipment.
2. To ensure all food safety and quality standards are achieved and documented.
3. To ensure shift managers effectively control their production resources (people, machines, materials, equipment), ensuring best utilisation of resources to deliver the agreed production plan.
4. To ensure that global Production Targets and KPI’s are met and on time.
5. To drive Continuous Improvement activities across department by monitoring and measuring performance, and by engaging the team.
6. To ensure that the product is produced in accordance with the Company’s product quality standards, through effective training and communication and ensuring quality procedures are updated and documented in accordance with the Quality Management System
7. Overseeing all checks and paperwork is filled in correctly and in time. Reviewing the effectiveness of the paperwork systems and their practical implementation.
8. To ensure all production information is available, current and relevant.
9. Making sure that all staff controls are in place.
10. Oversee the effectiveness of both routine and deep cleans deliver required hygiene standards.
11. To oversee the discipline of all factory personnel ensuring company policy is rigorously applied.
12. Effective liaison with the engineering department to ensure plant preventative and immediate maintenance is effectively delivered and controlled.
13. To oversee the effective running of the factory warehouse to meet the requirements of goods received and despatch management and control.
14. To ensure good communication between shifts and departments.
Duties and Responsibilities Hygiene:
15. Oversee the correct standards of hygiene are delivered at the site together with the associated documentation.
16. Periodically review the effectiveness of hygiene standards and controls.
17. Oversee good practice of chemical handing and PPE.
Person Specification – Essential:

22. Good understanding of cleaning practices with use of chemicals and waste disposal
23. A thorough understanding of good manufacturing practice

28. Previous management experience with the ability to operate with minimum supervision.
