Springbridge Direct is a firm founded over 25 years ago by the Hawkins family, spanning across an impressive six acres we have our yard based in Denham, Buckinghamshire, with our head offices nearby in Chalfont Park.
Springbridge is a premier supplier of quality Topsoil's and related products such as Barks & Mulches, Composts, Decorative Aggregates, Sand, Shingle and Turf to both retail and trade. Topsoil being our flagship product and is manufactured on site. We also complete haulage on behalf of many other well-established suppliers.
Here at Springbridge we own a fleet of 21 Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs) consisting of 4-wheelers, Artics, 8-wheel Grabs and Tippers.
Job Overview
As a Transport Planner at Springbridge Direct, you will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient and effective planning of our fleet’s daily operations. Working closely with drivers, operations, and sales teams, you’ll manage schedules, optimize routes, and ensure customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
1. Plan and optimize daily transport routes to ensure timely and cost-effective deliveries.
2. Coordinate with drivers and other teams to address real-time transport issues.
3. Monitor and adjust schedules to accommodate changes in delivery priorities or traffic conditions.
4. Assist our Transport Manager in maintaining compliance with all legal and regulatory transport requirements.
5. Communicate effectively with customers and drivers to ensure smooth operations.
Requirements
1. Experience in transport planning or logistics (preferably in a similar industry).
2. Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail.
3. Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
4. Ability to work effectively under pressure in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
5. Understanding of UK transport regulations is advantageous.
