This is a fantastic opportunity to work within the Product Engineering Team based in Dundee. This is a multi-discipline team developing and supporting the production of ATM’s (Automated Teller Machine). Each ATM combines a range of financial Self-Service modules that are packaged to deliver complex transactions in a wide variety of environments.
We are seeking an experienced Senior System/Electronic Engineer who will develop the electrical system architecture within the ATM.
The successful candidate will be a highly focussed, self-motivated individual able to lead a team of electrical / system engineers while demonstrating good analytical and problem solving skills.
Key Responsibilities
Main responsibilities shall include, but will not be restricted to:
* Help define, maintain & ensure adherence to the ATM System Architecture design.
* Help in the definition of how architecture evolves in line with industry & technology trends.
* Implement best practice design & identify any technical risks.
* Lead small technical team to support the needs of various projects.
* Solve complex hardware/software interoperability problems.
* Support various projects through planning, development & test.
* Attend or lead design reviews
* Prepare documentation, procurement specifications, Functional specifications, test reports.
* Prepare senior management reports on project status.
Must understand the importance of attention to detail and have excellent written and spoken communications skills & be able to communicate status at senior level. The following mix of skills and experience will be required:
* Substantial industry experience of analogue and digital electronics. Awareness of industry trends & understanding or latest/future technologies.
* Strong understanding of PC Architecture especially USB & other comms protocols.
* Experience in PCB development and test, including schematic entry.
* Experience of device firmware development & tools.
* Experience of electrical system debug techniques & tools.
* Good understanding of International test standards applicable to IT equipment, including safety and EMC.
* Comfortable with Project Management techniques and an ability to manage time effectively and work within tight deadlines.
* Experience in leading small technical team to deliver against project timelines.
* Experience with using Cadence or other PCB design tools and Microsoft Office applications.
* Experience in the following industries would be considered relevant;
Qualifications
* Degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Physics or related subject
* Experience in an electronics design environment
