Job ID: 2913415 | Amazon Innovation Center (Shenzhen) Company Limited
As a support engineer, you will work on BSP automation tests and virtual platforms, contributing to the proficient and qualitative delivery of multiple small-scale projects within the same product line or the broader spectrum of a larger project. Stay customer-focused, understand the technical aspects of the business, and influence what the team is meant to deliver. Represent the team in external forums, driving high-impact process improvement initiatives focusing on long-term and sustained benefits.
Key Job Responsibilities
1. Understand PDP and test scoping strategy. Work closely with QA/SDET to confirm test scope and allocate test runs.
2. Collaborate with managers during operational planning to provide component or functional complexities, highlight risks, external dependencies, and work on a mitigation plan. Provide inputs to management to enable course correction in planning and execution based on changing business priorities.
3. Optimize scalable processes and build documentation to eliminate dependency. Create SOPs and standardize test methods or processes under a defined high-level test strategy.
4. Actively mentor and develop DAs/SDAs across the breadth and depth of the product, understand the training needs of the team, and work with involved teams to enrich continuous learning.
5. Optimize effective usage of resources and ensure scalability for future needs. Participate in hiring DAs/SDAs for the team and provide necessary support for their career growth.
6. Focus on escape issues reported outside the team but within the team’s scope, fix coverage gaps, and identify proactive measures to reduce quality misses early in the release cycle.
7. Handle issue escalations, perform root cause analysis, provide data to managers/stakeholders, and own action items identified. Respectfully challenge the defined scope and adjust actions based on outcomes or business priorities.
8. Demonstrate customer obsession by providing detailed background and customer impact for issues reported and actively follow up on urgent issues. Represent all DA issues in external forums like launch readiness and defect triage meetings, influencing external teams to address issues affecting product quality and customer experience.
9. Provide technical assistance during the implementation of initiatives and suggest appropriate tools. Work with tech and non-tech teams to clearly communicate business requirements and evaluate infrastructure/technical needs for projects.
