Vacancy # 116 Freshpork NZ is a family-owned business, passionate about producing quality New Zealand pork products and feed. We have been delivering New Zealand pork to Kiwis for over 39 years and are the country's leading pork specialist. With over 150 people in our team operating from 4 sites, we are committed to the long-term sustainability of the NZ pork industry, through innovative processing that provides fresh, high quality food products to New Zealanders, their families and animals.
Freshpork Bay City, our Timaru production facility is New Zealand’s largest pork specialist abattoir and butchery operation. Our dedicated team of over 70 staff process around 4,000 pigs per week.
As part of our chiller crew you will be completing a range of manual handling tasks such as load out of carcasses and cartons.
To be successful in this role you will:
* Have a good attitude and be reliable and punctual
* Flexibility to respond to production requirements
* Need physical stamina and strength due to the physicality of the job
* Have great attention to detail and accuracy with paperwork and numbers
* Be able to work cohesively in the team
There is a rotating roster with start times rotating from 5:30am, 9am and 3pm. Our chillers operate 7 days a week so weekend days are worked on rotation.
