Workshop TechnicianLocation: Langley, Slough Permanent, Full-Time (37.5 hours per week, on-site) Salary £29,000 - £35,000Are you an experienced engineering professional with a manufacturing background? We’re looking for a skilled Workshop Technician to join a dynamic team. If you have hands-on expertise with manual lathes, milling machines, and a range of hand tools, we’d love to hear from you. This role requires attention to detail, the ability to interpret engineering drawings, and a commitment to delivering high-quality work on time. You’ll also need to be comfortable with occasional heavy lifting and possess a proactive, team-oriented approach. Key Requirements:
* Proven experience in engineering manufacturing, with knowledge of measurements and threads.
* Hands-on expertise with manual lathes, milling machines, and bench drills.
* Proficient in using hand tools for machining tasks.
* Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings.
* Strong time management skills and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
* Comfortable with occasional heavy lifting.
* Reliable, punctual, and flexible to work overtime when necessary.
* Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Key Responsibilities:
* Operate and maintain manual lathes, milling machines, and bench drills to produce components with precision.
* Use hand tools and measurement equipment, such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges, to ensure accuracy.
* Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
* Machine various materials, including metals, alloys, and plastics.
* Troubleshoot and adjust machine settings as needed to maintain product quality.
* Conduct routine maintenance of machines and promptly report any mechanical issues.
* Perform quality inspections on finished products to ensure they meet required tolerances.
* Manage workload effectively to meet production deadlines.
* Collaborate with engineering and production teams to address technical challenges.
* Maintain a clean, organised workspace, adhering to health and safety regulations.
