Duties as a SENCO Teacher:
Oversee and coordinate SEN provision across the school, ensuring high-quality support for all pupils.
Work closely with teachers and support staff to implement effective strategies for children with diverse learning needs.
Develop and manage Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs).
Liaise with parents, carers, external agencies, and local authorities to provide the best outcomes for pupils.
Lead and support a team of teaching assistants and SEN staff, providing training and guidance where necessary.
Ensure the school remains compliant with SEND regulations, policies, and best practices.
Monitor and assess pupils' progress, adapting support strategies as needed.What you need for this Secondary School Teacher position:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience in SEN teaching.
A National Award for SEN Coordination (or willingness to work towards it).
Strong knowledge of SEND legislation, including the SEND Code of Practice.
Experience developing and implementing EHCPs and IEPs.
Excellent communication and leadership skills.
A commitment to inclusion and supporting every child to reach their full potential.
