Job Role: Mechanical Engineer (Plumber)
Location: HMP Chelmsford, 200 Springfield Rd, Springfield, Chelmsford, CM2 6JT
Salary: £41,818.21 per annum + 5% for working shifts covering weekends
Contract: Permanent, full time, 39 hours per week
We are seeking an NVQ level 3 qualified Mechanical Engineer to join our team at HMP Chelmsford, a Category B Male prison.

We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer with one of the following qualifications and combination of skills and experience:
1. C&G 6189 Plumbing and domestic heating
2. C&G 5962 certificate in Plumbing (Advanced craft)
3. C&G 6019 Mechanical Engineering services (plumbing)
4. C&G 6018 heating and ventilation installation
5. C&G 6129 certificate in Plumbing
6. C&G 214 Engineering systems maintenance
7. C&G 6188 Heating and ventilating
8. C&G 6088 certificate in heating and ventilating
9. C&G 6032 the advanced craft certificate in plumbing
10. EAL Diploma in Plumbing and Heating
Additionally, you should have:
1. Two years' experience working in a role as a plumber or equivalent
2. Familiarity with Water Supply Regulation and Control of Legionella L8 requirements
3. Experience working on commercial or industrial heating and water systems
4. Good working knowledge of relevant health and safety requirements
5. Excellent organisational, time management and people skills
