Site Manager (Electrical, Cabling, Substation and/or Overhead Lines bias)
Location: Glasgow / Lothian and Borders, Strathclyde, Dumfries and Galloway, Fife, Central belt etc.
Salary up to £57,750 per year (dependant on experience) with a strong benefits package - plus extensive Overtime available (further details below)
37-hour basic week

Role
To enact the role of Client Representative on site ensuring that the site-based construction activities across Scottish Power- Strategic Projects are efficiently managed in accordance with Scottish Power policies and procedures.
What you will be doing
1. Ensure that the Principal Contractor (PC) is pro-active in discharging their duties under the CDM regulations, managing all safety aspects of the construction-based activities.
2. Review and comment on the deliverability of the PC Site Delivery Programmes and proactively monitor all activities, advising the EPC Project Manager of any risks, opportunities or delays to programme.
3. Facilitate regular site safety walks and hold coordination meetings with all contractors on site.
4. Review the suitability of Risk Assessments and Method Statements.
5. Ensure the PC holds Site Progress Meetings and issues minutes of these meetings.
6. Support Quality Assurance monitoring across the Strategic Projects.
7. Undertake the role of client representative for monitoring site construction activities.
8. Enact the role of Employers Supervisor under NEC contracts.
9. Issue site instructions following agreement from the EPC Project Manager.
10. Ensure a drawing documentation system is established on site.
11. Coach and mentor other members of staff as required.
12. Drive agreed OFGEM regulatory targets for Sustainability and Biodiversity.
What you will bring
Primary knowledge of construction-related activities including RAMS & ITP's, Hazard Identification & Mitigation, relevant standards & specifications, good understanding of designs, maintenance, monitoring As-Built records and H&S file preparation for the works, underground cabling within substation, monitoring and inspecting the installation of foundations, steel structures, ducts systems, control buildings, underground cables, all HV equipment including transformers and associated installations.
Good interpersonal and communication skills, excellent negotiation and influencing skills, strong leadership & planning skills, and basic Project Management skills.
Skilled in the use of PC & Microsoft Software Applications for planning and organising works, Power Points, Word, Excel, Project, and able to use digital forms of communication TEAMS.
Proven ability to lead and work in a team and contractor's environment with a proactive and flexible approach.
Basic understanding of various Contract forms such as NEC 3 or 4 and FIDIC, and awareness of NEC conditions of contract.
Expert understanding of Safety and Environmental legislation and practices.
Previous experience of project site management capability in a contracting environment.
Significant experience in managing transmission construction projects and extensive experience of construction standards, especially with regards to Overhead Lines.
Extensive experience and knowledge in all current Health and Safety legislation, understanding CDM 2015 regulations, and duty holder roles.
Knowledge of specifications, designs, maintenance, construction, and commissioning of overhead lines.
Minimum Requirements
* HNC / HND or equivalent experience in an engineering and or construction discipline.
* SMSTS, NEBOSH, IOSH or SSSTS.
* Formal training in Construction H&S, CDM, Risk Assessment & Method Statements, Environmental, Duty of Care and Waste Management, Contract Terms and Conditions.
* IT skills.
* Full UK driving licence.
