Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and proactive HR Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting our human resources functions and ensuring effective administrative operations. This position requires strong communication skills and the ability to manage a variety of tasks within a busy HR department.
Responsibilities
1. Recruitment - developing job descriptions and person specifications, preparing advertisements, checking application forms, shortlisting, interviewing and assisting managers with selecting candidates. Onboarding and induction of new employees to ensure they are well integrated into their new role.
2. Employee Relations - Handling workplace conflicts and ER cases including long term sick and Occupational health referrals. Ensuring employee satisfaction and promoting a positive work environment. Liaising with Union representatives and legal advisors where necessary.
3. HR administration - Maintenance and development of effective personnel administration and control procedures in order to provide timely and accurate Management information. Manage payroll input and benefit administration. Maintain TMS and HRIS to ensure all records are correct and up to date. Maintaining employee records and ensuring proper documentation including ethical compliance records.
4. HR Policies and Compliance - Working closely with line managers, assisting them to understand and implement policies and procedures and employment legislation changes. Assist with updating policies to reflect organisational approach or legislative changes. Ensure compliance with ethical audit standards, working time directives and right to work guidelines.
5. Equality, Diversity and Inclusion - Promoting equality and diversity as part of the culture of the organisation, to include assisting with input on monthly communications, induction and relevant training.
6. Learning and Development – Identify training and development needs through job analysis, appraisal process and regular consultation with departmental managers and HR to develop training plans and deliver training. Assist with managing the online LMS, administration of training courses including considering the costs of planned programmes and keep within budgets and assessing the return on investment of any training or development programme.
7. Employee Engagement - Ensuring the continuous achievement of IIP standards in line with our already gained IIP accreditation. Contribute to continuous improvement of employee engagement methods and programmes.
Requirements
1. CIPD qualified.
2. At least 2 years’ experience in a similar role within a FMCG HR department.
3. Experience of working with unions advantageous.
4. Excellent Literacy and Numeracy (English/Maths GCE/GCSE ‘C’ Equivalent).
5. Excellent Word Processing Skills and proficiency in Excel.
6. Strong Communications skills - required to communicate at all levels both internally and externally.
7. Well organized and methodical to cope with the differing management disciplines within a busy HR department.
8. Positive and flexible attitude as the Job Holder will be required to undertake a variety of jobs.
