Our client the leading force in the UK Freight Forwarding and Logistics market is looking for Warehouse Operatives to join them Warehouse Operative's- Night Shift Salary £25,000 - £27,000 per year (Shift and experience dependant) Shifts Available: Sunday to Wednesday nights 19:00-07:00 - Forklift truck licence (preferable) Warehouse experience (essential) Benefits/holidays Holiday - starting at 22 days increasing to 25 after 2 years of service. Specific requirements: Previous experience of working in a warehouse environment The ability to undertake physical unloading of vehicles Numeracy and Literacy skills Counterbalance and Reach Fork Truck License (Training will be given to the successful applicant) Job Role: Reporting to the Warehouse Manager the successful applicant will be preparing orders, by processing requests and supply orders as directed by the warehouse office team. This will involve packing boxes / pallets, pulling materials and safely storing / loading them onto various vehicle combinations, ensuring the safe use of mechanical equipment and safe operation is considered at all times. You will maintain inventory controls by accurate stock allocation and reporting any discrepancies both in a written and verbal format to the Warehouse Team. Numeracy and literacy skills are essential for this role. The successful applicant will contribute at all times ensuring a team effort is achieved by applying a ' can do ' attitude to the working environment. Key Responsibilities: To load and unload trailer and Container vehicle(s) whilst maintaining safety and security of the load at all times. To carry out all necessary checks to ensure vehicle / equipment is safe and legal and to follow appropriate procedures as set out by company policies To report any damage to mechanical resources immediately to the Warehouse Manager To act as company ambassador when dealing with customers and ensure their satisfaction is a priority To complete all paperwork promptly and accurately as directed by the Warehouse Manager and legislation. Report to the Warehouse Manager or deputy on any issues surrounding load planning and delivery. To operate all vehicle systems such as fork trucks, working platforms, Dock levellers safely and in line with company procedures. Comply with all Health & Safety requirements in our depot as directed by the senior management team To take responsibility for ensuring your own physical fitness to conduct your daily duties Inform the Warehouse Manager in writing immediately if your physical circumstances change during your employment Ensure the cleanliness of both the warehouse and yard areas is maintained and continually improved Specific Person: The individual must be flexible and able to work in a team based environment. Demonstrable load planning ability Fork Truck operating experience and qualifications (advantageous) Polite and Courteous Knowledge of load restraint procedures such as, strapping loads and load security Essential literacy and numeracy skills. A commitment to delivering the best possible customer service. Works well with colleagues and is prepared to cover for absence and work overtime as required. To be able to deal with queries and respond accurately Works with minimal supervision and is prepared to use own initiative Is readily adaptable to changes in working procedures and practices and is open to opportunities to improve their own skills.
