Quality Engineer (Supplier)
Our rapidly growing client based near Blackburn is seeking a dynamic and experienced Supplier Quality Engineer to support the strategic and tactical business requirements in the development of both new and existing suppliers by collaborating with the supply chain, quality, planning, engineering, and program departments.
As Supplier Quality Engineer, you will be required to conduct validation audits and pre-assessment, approval, and qualification procedures for suppliers.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Guarantee conformance and satisfy the expected OTIF delivery, quality, cost, HSE, and related rules, industrial standards, and customer criteria by conducting audits and evaluations for supplier rate preparedness, production part approval procedure (PPAP), business continuity, and ESG.
2. Conduct source inspections and supplier quality audits/assessments in line with the surveillance plan.
3. Ensure effective management of supplier non-conformances with defect investigations and ensure comprehensive root cause analysis is carried out using industry-wide problem-solving methods.
4. Regularly monitor supplier KPI performance and work with suppliers to ensure robust process controls are in place to secure supplier continuous compliance and meet RLC's supplier performance requirements.
5. Lead supplier improvement activities, including putting development plans in place, driving systematic problem solving, process control, and improvement.
Skills and Experience Required:
1. Strong knowledge of aerospace products, manufacturing processes, technologies, standards, and regulations.
2. Strong knowledge of PPAP, FMEA, root cause analysis, production rate readiness, business continuity assessment, and continuous improvement.
3. Knowledge of business management system, ERP, and Microsoft Office PC skills.
This is a permanent position based close to Blackburn, paying a salary of up to £52,000 + excellent benefits.
UK and international travel is required for this role.
