JOB SUMMARY:
The Mobile Equipment Mechanic plays an important role in maintaining and repairing our fleet of mobile mining equipment, service trucks, and passenger trucks to ensure safe & reliable operation. Equipment to include loaders, dozers, excavators, scrapers, backhoes, articulated haul trucks, over the road company vehicles, and a variety of support equipment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Make routine inspections, document inspections and repairs in our CMMS program.
2. Perform scheduled preventative maintenance. Clean, lubricate, and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment.
3. Ability to complete diagnostics, troubleshoot and complete repairs to all types of heavy equipment including but not limited to hydraulic systems, motors, transmissions, drives, and electrical systems. (Continuous dealer training provided).
4. Run tests after making repairs or performing maintenance to make sure that the equipment is in good safe working order before returning to duty.
5. Prioritize and schedule repairs and maintenance to reduce or eliminate equipment down time.
6. Fabricates, modifies, and installs new/used equipment and replacement parts using torch, welders, plasma cutters, etc.
7. Performs duties in accordance with all company safety rules and MSHA/OSHA guidelines.
8. Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:
1. Three + years of experience with diesel trucks and various heavy equipment.
2. Valid Driver’s License with clean driving record.
3. Knowledge and experience must include but not be limited to: Overhauling of diesel engines, brake service and repair, proper service of equipment, electrical knowledge, and troubleshooting skills of all equipment.
4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
5. Ability to work overtime as needed.
6. Must possess the ability to solve mechanical and electrical problems quickly and independently while working in a team-based environment.
7. Experience with using OEM diagnostic software to troubleshoot issues.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
1. Perform all work in accordance with YBP Safety policies.
2. The work is performed outdoors and/or indoors, enduring heat, cold, rain, dust, wind, and other elements.
3. Capable of operating various types of heavy equipment and/or machinery.
PHYSICAL CAPABILITIES:
1. Physical demands include but are not limited to walking, sitting, bending, stooping, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
