Scott Park Surgery is looking to recruit a receptionist/audio typist on a part time basis for 20 hours per week with the hours detailed below: Monday 07:45 – 11:45 Tuesday 14:45 – 18:45 Wednesday 12:30 – 16:30 Thursday 09:00 – 13:00 Friday 07:45 – 11:45 It is also essential that you are able to work these days and times. Holiday rotas: itme varies must have time flexibility to do extra hours when necessary. Duties will include; Typing referral letters and medical reports. Answering telephones, making appointments. General filing and data input. Issuing of repeat prescriptions. Responding to queries and requests for assistance from patients/visitors, and other general reception/admin duties as required. About the Candidate You will need to have the following skills and experience: Audio typing skills and computer literacy are desirable including having the ability to use Microsoft Word and Excel. Touch typing is essential. A current DBS would be an advantage. Previous GP experience is desirable but not essential as full training will be given. Confident using IT and can quickly pick up new software skills. Able to work under pressure and on your own initiative. Able to work in a polite, confidential, and discreet manner, respecting patients, and colleagues at all times. Have good interpersonal skills. Flexibility to do extra hours to cover annual leave, absence, other causes as and when necessary, at short notice. Strong inter-personal and prioritising skills, and the ability to balance multiple priorities. Need to be committed to delivering a quality service, be a team player and proactively identify continuous improvement opportunities and implement them. Need to plan ahead and respond to changes and understand the impact that these changes can have on the overall service delivery of the practice.
