About the role
Balfour Beatty has an exciting opportunity for a Assistant Innovation Manager to join our outstanding Major Projects team to work at our Old Oak Common development in London – join us and be part of the largest construction project in the UK .
HS2s new c. 1 billion Old Oak Common station will become the UKs best-connected rail station once completed. Our Balfour Beatty VINCI SYTRA joint venture will be responsible for the final design, construction, and commissioning of the station in Northwest London.
Upon completion, the new station will boast six underground platforms and up to eight platforms on the adjacent Great Western Main Line. Old Oak Common will also provide highspeed rail services to the Midlands, central London, Scotland, and the North, as well as direct services to three major airports. Incorporating passenger and retail facilities, the new station will provide an exceptional customer experience for both passengers and visitors to the station.
What you'll be doing
As a Assistant Innovation Manager you will be responsible for the supporting the Innovation Manager to manage the innovation schemes from their conception to completion and deputise as required. Innovation includes new technology or use of existing technology in new ways to realise benefits to safety, sustainability, cost or programme.
Role Responsibilities;
* Developing an OOC innovation network within the project and with the supply chain.
* Communicate innovations with potential for application to OOC to this network as
required to support development of an innovation pipeline.
* Briefing to new subcontractors on their contractual requirements for innovation (as described in SWI-845) and as described in the BBVS Innovation Management Plan.
* Update the BBVS Innovation Management Plan for internal review at the agreed
frequency including coordination of input from others.
* Represent BBVS at the HS2 Client Innovation Forum meetings.
* Preparing BBVS non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) and obtaining agreement of
these with the supply chain as required to enable development of innovation trials
and schemes.
