Berkshire Community Dental Service is looking to recruit afull-time lead dental nurse. This role incorporates managerial, leadership and clinical responsibilities. You will be work closely with the senior dental team and senior management within the division and will be supported by the Chief Dentist and Service Manager. There will be opportunities to liaise with other teams such as contracts, procurement,informaticsand finance.
Theleaddentalnurse willjoin an enthusiastic and skilled workforce witha great teamspirit. The servicehas 7 clinics ranging fromThatchamto Langley andhasover 40members of staff.We provide treatment under sedation, general anaesthesia and in secure units.It is expected that the lead dental nurse will also work clinically and will attend the clinic sites as part of their leadership and managerial role.The service treats patients withadditionalneeds including children, people with learning and physical disabilities and the elderly.The service provides treatment in the clinics and works with neighbouring acute hospitals for provision of its general anaesthetic service.
Your base will bein Bracknell,butyouwillalso work at other clinics, the hospitals where we undertake general anaesthetic sessionsand in the domiciliary setting. It is therefore essential that you can drive, have a UK driving licence and a car for travel between clinics and hospitals
• Management of the dental nurses, including appraisal and line management

The “must haves” for you to be considered for this role:
• GDCRegistration.
• National Certificate for Dental Nurses or NVQ Level 3 in Oral Healthcare.
• Significant experienceas a DentalNursewithinCommunity Dental servicesettings.
• Experience of service compliance management/service improvement.
• Have a car and driving licence.
• Excellentcommunication skills.
• Strong leadership skills.
• A team playerand willing to work with the dental team and the Trust.
• Experience with dental software andstronggeneral IT skills.
• Ability to work outside normal working hours (8.30 – 17.00) given sufficient notice.
