We are seeking a Specialist Services Manager (Gas Team) to join our team. In this exciting new role you will be responsible for overseeing the management, development, and delivery of gas, renewable energy, and solid fuel services. This role involves managing contractor relationships, ensuring regulatory compliance, maintaining high service standards, and overseeing budget control. The position will lead a team of Repairs Coordinators, Technicians, and Operatives, ensuring the team meets performance targets and delivers cost-effective, high-quality services to tenants.

Requirements
Outline of key responsibilities for the Specialist Services Management (Gas Team)…
* To be responsible for the procurement and management of work carried completed by sub-contractors and partners. To ensure that all work undertaken is in accordance with THG policies and procedures, current legislation and completed utilising good management practices.
* To be aware of and to recognise and plan for business opportunities associated with building services development and renewable incentives, e.g., Heat Pumps.
* Monitor team performance to ensure staff meet agreed targets set by THG, promoting positive processes while instigating corrective actions when performance falls below the required level
* To ensure full compliance with applicable regulations and legislation, timely renewal of certification with the regulatory bodies including but not limited to Gas Safe, Corgi, etc.
* To be responsible for delivering operational plans and policies that deliver high quality, tenant focused, cost effective services including responsive repairs, to void properties, planned/cyclical compliance checks, new installations, new build, upgrades, renewables and a 24/7 emergency call out service
* To effectively apply a broad range of knowledge in business planning, budget preparation, and monetary control, while working within the budget set by the company Directors.
* Provide comprehensive monitoring and reporting on all gas team activities, including financial results, performance against targets, customer satisfaction, and repair performance, while promoting positive processes and implementing corrective actions when performance falls below required standards.
* To improve performance, promote a value-for-money ethos, and meet business needs, a comprehensive training program should be developed and maintained, ensuring the gas team adheres to all current regulations, codes of practice, legislation, and regulatory body recommendations, while incorporating flexible working patterns, multi-skilling, and other efficiency-enhancing measures.
* Monitor the THG Housing Management System, dynamic scheduling tool, and escalation process, ensuring rotas are maintained and Repairs and Maintenance services are fully operational to meet demand.
* To ensure that Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and other legislation such as but not limited to CDM regulations and the control of Substances Hazardous to Health Act 2002 are implemented and complied with, including accident investigation and the reporting of RIDDOR reportable accidents (including escalation to Senior Management)
We are looking for someone who has…
* A Full UK driving license and access to own vehicle with business insurance
* Gas qualification under the ACS (Accredited Certification Scheme)
* Experience in people management within a repair and maintenance environment, including identifying training and development needs, managing performance, and handling disciplinary issues effectively.
* Experience of working within a recognised trade (gas), or experience in specialist areas (Commercial Gas & Renewables)
* Show budgetary understanding in relation to the delivery of a responsive repair service
* Comprehensive knowledge of Health & Safety at Work Act and its application in a repairs environment
* Experience working to set target time scales and deadlines
