Shorterm Group have designed a paid upskilling programme that takes experienced light vehicle/car mechanics and upskills them to be highly competent HGV technicians. It is working on Buses. This is a 1-year paid "work and learn" programme. The training programme consists of 24 separate planned on the job (OTJ) training practical assessments across the year. o Shift: rotating shift patterns Salary: Circa £34k dependant on shift/hours worked. Night shifts are also available at certain depots. Hourly rate: £17.21p/h on a 38hr paid week. Duration: 12 months in the clients' depot - after this there is a very good prospect of full-time employment direct with the client with a pay rise. IMI accreditation upon completion of the 1-year programme. Candidates for this position will need to have the following: Will have completed an apprenticeship in light vehicle mechanics and repair, BTEC, City & Guilds qualification or a level 2equivalent relevant qualification. In exceptional cases we will consider candidates who do not possess a level 2 qualification or equivalent but who have strong relevant technical expertise. Hold a full UK drivers' licence. Own a laptop/PC and have domestic internet connectivity. Have the right to live and work in the UK. Live within a reasonable commute of a designated garage.
