Main Purpose of the role The SEN Teaching Assistant role is crucial in supporting the learning and development of pupils with special educational needs and disabilities SEND The role will be working with a child on a one-to-one basis and also working with SEND pupils in class.SEN Teaching assistant Location: Preston, Lancashire Hours: Full time On-going contract Pay rate: £15 - £17 per hour Ltd.Main Purpose of the role The SEN Teaching Assistant role is crucial in supporting the learning and development of pupils with special educational needs and disabilities SEND The role will be working with a child on a one-to-one basis and also working with SEND pupils in class.Key Responsibilities and Duties Work 1-to-1 with a child requiring a highly personalised curriculum Plan visual and tactile continuous provision opportunities for a child who has limited receptive and expressive language capacity Provide a safe and secure environment where a sense of belonging can be fostered for the child Assist in the delivery of tailored, evidence-based interventions to support the learning and development of pupils with SEND Contribute to the monitoring and assessment of pupils' progress, feeding back information to the teacher and SENCO Skills and Competencies Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, parents/carers, and colleagues Empathy, patience, and a genuine commitment to supporting the learning and development of pupils with SEND Knowledge and understanding of SEND, including specific areas such as communication and interaction, sensory and/or physical needs, and social, emotional, and mental health difficulties All candidates will be subject to standard vetting checks.
