Job Summary
The FM Digital Channels (Blade) team is responsible for cross-product transactional pricing of derivatives within Standard Chartered. In particular, we are looking for someone to join our team of Haskell developers in London to develop the pricing backend for the Blade Team.
You will work alongside business stakeholders and other teams in Financial Markets to implement and frequently deploy new functionality that will be used in the bank’s mission-critical systems. The ideal candidate has strong technical skills, extensive experience with applying functional programming, the ability to learn about the business domain, and the ability to interact well with business stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
As a senior developer, you’ll be driving our platform forwards and delivering quality solutions to business-critical customer requirements. Based in London, you will collaborate in a dynamic global team with fellow technologists, business analysts, project managers and business stakeholders across multiple locations.
Key Attributes
* An excellent Haskell developer with good software design principles and the ability to write robust code and accompanying test suites.
o We are willing to consider proficiency in other functional languages like OCaml or Scala as well, but knowledge of Haskell is a plus.
* Ability to write efficient, clear code and articulate what has been implemented and why.
* Self-starter who can drive/facilitate requirements and development effort.
* Take ownership and responsibility for the full development lifecycle.
* Experience working in an agile development environment.
* A team player, capable of engaging with other teams.
* Knowledge and experience of financial markets systems is a plus.

* Fluent in English (speaking and writing)
* Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
* People Management
* SDLC including Agile & Waterfall
* Architecture and System Design
* Experience with using Linux environments
* Experience with developing server-side software
* Application Development Experience (past or current)
* Financial markets domain knowledge
* Demonstrable experience with software development using functional programming languages, preferably Haskell or other such as OCaml and Scala.
* MSc or PhD in Computing Science or another STEM field is preferable, but optional in the presence of extensive experience in functional programming.
