Onsite workingis expected for3 days each week ; however, we actively support requests for flexible working.This role is to be based inCulham, Oxfordshire .This role requires employees tocomplete an online Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS),including The Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) checks for criminal convictions and possibly a search of open-source data.The RoleWe are seeking a passionate and experienced Principal or Senior Engineer ready to take ownership of critical design authority for high-complexity facilities. Join our Engineering Authority and become a key player in ensuring performance, compliance, and safety throughout the entire plant lifecycle.As Deputy Facility Chief Engineer, you'll directly support the UKAEA Chief Engineer and Facility Chief Engineer, acting as their delegate and independently overseeing technical governance, particularly for experiments involving Electrical, Controls & Robotics systems. You'll also leverage your specialist skills to contribute to the Engineering Authority across all UKAEA facilities and programmes.This role demands a proactive individual who is invested in long-term success and excels at building strong relationships with operations leaders and safety case holders. You'll be a visible and confident point of contact for technical governance, capable of interacting effectively with everyone from directors to early career engineers, providing crucial scrutiny of engineering decisions. - Extensive experience in the delivery across Plant Lifecycle (Need, Design, Build & Test, Commission, Operate, Monitor, Maintain & Modify, Decommission)
- Experience with industrial regulations, codes, standards, and norms together with tailoring their application within a diverse business
