About the role
An exciting opportunity has arisen at Brother’s European headquarters in Manchester for a HR Generalist to join our Human Resources team.
You will support the department in fostering a positive work environment by addressing employee concerns, resolving conflicts, and ensuring compliance with company policies. This role is responsible for developing and creating video content to enhance employee engagement, improving HR systems, and supporting various HR functions.
Main Tasks
Training and Development:
1. Create training materials, manuals, and e-learning modules to address skill gaps and enhance performance.
2. Conduct training sessions, workshops on various HR topics.
3. Manage the LMS system and improve efficiencies in how we record training, tracking and outcomes.
4. Assess the ROI of training being provided and monitor analyse the cost.
5. Manage the Apprenticeship framework and promote courses.
HR Systems Improvement:
1. Assess and enhance current HR systems to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
2. Implement automation tools to reduce manual tasks and improve accuracy and efficiency.
3. Monitor and analyse HR metrics and data to identify areas for improvement.
4. Research new methods/solutions to improve day-to-day operations.
Employee Relations:
1. Support the HR team with various capability investigations, including grievance and disciplinary.
2. Foster a positive work environment and promote employee engagement.
3. Deal with various HR queries throughout the business.
4. Responsible for sickness absence reviews and monitoring including long term sickness.
Performance Management:
1. Assist in the development and implementation of performance appraisal system.
2. Provide guidance and support to managers in managing employee performance.
3. Support managers on performance reviews and help managers provide feedback to employees.
4. Monitor completion and track non-completes.
Compliance and Policies:
1. Maintain up-to-date employee records and HR documentation.
2. Update HR policies and procedures as needed.
3. Keep a tracking record up to date of changes.
4. Create and maintain the structure of policies and procedures ensuring they have consistency.
Other Duties:
1. Participate in HR projects and initiatives.
2. Provide HR administration support.
3. Collect and analyse HR data to identify trends and provide insights for decision-making and strategic planning.
4. Assist in organising HR events and activities.
5. Manage HR internal communications.
Requirements:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
2. CIPD accredited (full or part).
3. Proven experience in HR process improvement and systems management.
4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
5. Proficiency in HR software and systems (e.g., CIPHR, IRIS).
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
7. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
8. Attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
9. Knowledge of HR best practices and legal requirements.
