Job Summary: The Programme Business Analyst will work as part of a multidisciplinary team supporting programme activities. The primary responsibility involves collaborating with guidance production teams to document and baseline current processes and identify optimisation opportunities. The role includes data collection, process mapping, and recommending improvements based on analysis.
Responsibilities:
Act as a facilitator between operational business teams and the Improving Timeliness Programme.
Identify opportunities for process standardisation, alignment, and waste reduction.
Undertake process mapping and document comprehensive process models.
Translate process maps into improved process options using improvement methodologies.
Conduct time and motion studies to assess resource use and efficiency.
Design programme performance metrics and monitor data.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on continuous quality improvement initiatives.
Support operational teams with technical input and ensure sustainable change implementation.
Prepare and deliver presentations on improvement activities and findings.
Produce management reports and maintain project documentation.
Conduct benefits analysis and contribute to business cases.
Facilitate workshops and undertake benchmarking for best practices.
Ensure adherence to organisational policies, including health and safety, data protection, and equality policies.
Essential Criteria: Qualifications:
Degree relevant to the role or equivalent experience.
Qualification in process mapping and improvement frameworks (e.g., Lean or Lean Six Sigma).
Evidence of ongoing professional development.
Knowledge & Skills:
Expertise in quality improvement methodologies.
Familiarity with process optimisation tools (e.g., Model for Improvement, Lean Six Sigma).
Ability to develop and present complex reports and analysis.
Understanding of equal opportunities and diversity principles.
Experience:
Proven experience as a business analyst in service/process redesign.
Skills:
Excellent communication skills, including workshop facilitation.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, Visio).
Other Requirements:
Creative thinker with a proactive approach.
Effective team player with a commitment to health and safety policies.
Desirable Criteria:
Prince2 and/or ITIL certification.
Experience in business planning and change management.
Background in multiple business functions (e.g., Project Management, Marketing, Support Services).
Experience working with technical, clinical, and managerial leads in transformation programmes.
