About the Role
Our client, a global leader in the carbide cutting tool industry, is seeking a motivated and experienced Area Sales Engineer to join their team. This role focuses on maintaining and growing sales within the manufacturing sector, with an emphasis on aerospace, oil & gas, and automotive industries. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing sales strategies, generating new business, and building strong relationships with customers across the North East region.
Key Responsibilities
* Sales Performance Monitoring: Track and report on sales performance, ensuring targets are consistently achieved.
* Business Development: Identify and secure new business opportunities to expand the customer base.
* Sales Pipeline Management: Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline to support ongoing business growth.
* Customer Engagement: Collaborate with customers to address their needs and deliver tailored solutions.
* Market Strategy Implementation: Develop and execute strategic sales plans to drive growth and market penetration in the assigned territory.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience
* Industry Expertise: Ideally, a time-served engineer with experience in the aerospace, oil & gas, or automotive sectors.
* Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of metal cutting and machining processes.
* Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
* Problem-Solving: Resourceful with a proactive approach to overcoming challenges.
* IT Proficiency: Competent in the use of sales and reporting software.
