Canon’s House - Transforming Young Lives
Canon’s House is a lifeline for families across Wiltshire, registered with Ofsted and rated “Good”!
“Children’s safety and wellbeing are at the heart of staff practice.”
We provide overnight short breaks for children and young adults (5-17) with complex learning disabilities, health and care needs. Our 'whole child' approach ensures empathetic, holistic care, fostering stability, belonging, and positive well-being. We champion diversity, promote equality, and partner with families and professionals to deliver tailored care for all.
As a Waking Night’s Care Support Officer, you will provide waking night support for the children and young people, where no two nights are the same. You'll work a ten-hour night shift (specific hours to be determined). The ideal candidate should be flexible for planned annual leave and short-notice sick leave coverage.
Our ideal candidate will have experience of caring for children and young people, and ideally a background in supporting children and young people with complex health, care and learning needs. A Level 4 Children, Young People and Families Practitioner Apprenticeship Standard/Level 3 Diploma for Residential childcare or equivalent alongside a strong understanding of confidentiality, trust, child-centred care and support and effective safeguarding will be essential to carry out this role.
An initial shortlisting interview will take place on Wednesday 05 March, where there will be an opportunity to visit the home, take a tour of all Canon’s House has to offer and a change to meet some of the children and staff. Once the shortlisting has been completed, shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a formal interview on Monday the 10 of March.
A comprehensive induction, supervision and support is provided, along with continuous training, supporting your professional development.
If you are passionate about supporting children and families and want to be part of our amazing team, we would love to hear from you!
