Production Control Manager
Location: 6 Whittle Road, Ipswich, IP2 0UH
Reports to: Factory Manager & Company Directors
Salary Range: £30,000 - £35,000
Job Summary
The Production Control Manager is responsible for ensuring that our products and services meet all necessary quality standards and regulatory requirements. This role involves conducting regular inspections, audits, and evaluations to maintain compliance with industry standards, health and safety, and regulatory guidelines. The role will work closely with various departments to develop, implement, and monitor quality control systems and production protocols.
Key Responsibilities
1. Production Management
o Ensure that all production output meets the set specifications, standards and quality expected.
o Conduct regular inspections and audits of products, processes, and systems to ensure compliance with established quality standards.
o Develop, implement, and monitor quality control programs and procedures.
o Collaborate with senior management, production and purchasing teams to ensure quality standards are met throughout the production process.
o Maintain and update quality documentation, including inspection reports, non-conformance reports, and corrective action plans.
o Participate in cross-functional teams to implement improvements.
o Deputise for the Factory Manager where necessary (holiday, sickness cover).
2. Compliance and Health & Safety
o Ensure the organisation complies with all relevant industry standards, regulations, and legal requirements.
o Conduct internal audits to assess compliance with regulatory standards and internal policies.
o Develop, implement, and maintain compliance policies and procedures.
o Stay updated on changes in industry regulations and standards and communicate these changes to relevant departments.
o Provide training and guidance to staff on quality and compliance issues.
o Investigate and resolve compliance issues and report findings and results to senior management.
o Ensure all documentation is compliant with regulatory requirements and internal standards.
o Ensure all factory staff training records are up to date.
o Work with management team to promote good health and safety working practices throughout the organisation.
o Provide assistance alongside the Factory Manager to support the external health and safety compliance agent to ensure all reports are followed up on in a timely manner.
Qualifications and Competencies
* Minimum of 2 years of experience in quality control, production management, or a related role, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
* Familiarity with quality control procedures, techniques and documentation.
* Experience in maintaining quality management systems is a bonus.
* Understanding of health and safety practices and the ability to promote a safe working environment.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify defects or discrepancies accurately.
* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and prioritise tasks effectively.
* Strong report writing and written communication skills.
* Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Capability to influence cross-functional teams.
