A growing Hassocks based business is looking to add to the growing finance department by recruiting an Assistant Management Accountant on a permanent basis.
Job Description
As Assistant Management Accountant, you will be responsible for:
* Preparation and production of month-end journals including accruals and prepayments for management accounts for review by Management Accountant.
* Preparing accurate balance sheet control account reconciliations for the management accounts to a year-end standard, ensuring full explanation for balances and appropriate backup.
* Maintaining fixed asset register and monthly depreciation.
* Monthly reconciliation of expenses and ensuring receipts are submitted for audit purposes and correct allocation of costs in multiple currencies.
* Posting and reconciliation of sales invoicing to detailed sales reports.
* Credit control on all sales ledger balances and resolving any queries promptly to ensure cash flow is maintained.
* Ensuring Aged Debtors report balances to the Nominal Control Account in the Balance Sheet, and that all transactions are allocated and posted in the correct period.
* Checking and posting of currency purchase invoicing.
* Working with the Management Accountant to accurately reflect the monthly stock and cost of sales position in the Management Accounts.
* Posting weekly currency payments to ensure Currency Bank Accounts reconcile with foreign exchange drawdowns.
* Monthly Bank Reconciliations for GBP and foreign currency bank accounts.
* Responding to internal and external customer or supplier queries in a timely and professional manner.
* Assisting the Management Accountant and Auditors in the year-end audit and review process.
* Participating in the monthly Management Accounts review with the Management Accountant, Finance Director, and Managing Director.
* Experience in Accounts Receivables/Accounts Payables/Cashbooks is essential.
The Successful Applicant
* Ability to work under pressure ensuring work is completed promptly to a very high standard.
* Able to perform a hands-on, transactional role within both sales and purchase ledgers.
* An organised and methodical approach with attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
* Analytical and logical problem-solving skills, with strong numerical abilities.
* Ability to communicate and liaise with staff at all levels within a business.
* Strong knowledge of Excel and Word is essential, including VLOOKUPS and pivot tables.
* Experience in a similar role or relevant qualification is also desirable.
* A Finance related degree background and/or an interest in undertaking an Accountancy qualification would be desirable but not essential (e.g. AAT or early studies of CIMA/ACCA).

£30-33,000
Hybrid working, 3 days in office and 2 days WFH.
