About the role
This Software Delivery Manager role at Secondmind is focused on driving efficient and predictable software delivery through meticulous planning, process optimization, and effective communication across product and engineering teams. The ideal candidate will champion agile methodologies, establish robust delivery processes, and leverage data-driven insights to continuously improve forecasting accuracy and project execution, ultimately ensuring alignment with strategic goals and the successful delivery of high-quality software.
Key responsibilities
Delivery Process Optimization and Management:
* Implement and refine agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) within teams
* Collaborate with product and engineering teams to create project plans, optimizing scope, timelines, and resources
* Establish efficient delivery workflows, utilizing both agile and waterfall approaches
* Promote accurate estimation practices and develop sprint forecasts, including a three-month release plan
* Support organization-wide process improvement and align long-range planning with strategic goals
Monitoring, Reporting and Communication:
* Utilize Jira to track progress and generate reports
* Define and monitor delivery metrics, implement timesheet analysis, and drive planning accuracy
* Provide regular project status and performance KPI reports for stakeholders
* Foster communication between product, engineering, business, and finance teams
* Ensure clear communication of project goals, updates, and dependencies
* Assist technical leads in optimizing time for technical tasks

What skills, experience, and qualifications do you need to succeed in this role?
Essential:
* Proven experience in software delivery management and understanding of agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban)
* Strong project management and problem-solving skills
* Outstanding communication and stakeholder management
* Jira proficiency and experience with metrics and data-driven reporting
* Relevant project management or agile certification (e.g., CSM, PMI-ACP, PRINCE2 Agile, PMP)
Desirable:
* Experience in machine learning or AI environments
* Familiarity with documentation and process improvement methodologies
* Knowledge in business analysis and technical requirements
