Overview of Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Purchasing Specialist to join our Engineering Purchasing Team. Reporting to the Materials Support Manager, this role will primarily focus on managing purchasing activities for the ATR fleet, ensuring the seamless supply of spare parts, managing repairs, and overseeing the return of service exchanges.

The ideal candidate will play a vital role in maintaining and enhancing the current purchasing framework, building a strong supplier network, implementing contracts, and driving cost-saving negotiations. This position also includes overseeing a small, dedicated team to ensure Loganair stations and scheduled maintenance checks are fully supported.
Key Responsibilities
1. Oversee the review and processing of ATR components removed from aircraft, collaborating closely with the Technical Services team and Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul (MRO) companies.
2. Work with Rotable Controllers to optimize inventory levels and maintain stock availability.
3. Collaborate with the Engineering Technical Buyer to ensure timely procurement of essential components and materials.
4. Conduct data analysis to forecast inventory needs, identify trends, and refine purchasing strategies.
5. Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to negotiate favorable terms and pricing.
6. Evaluate and implement new supply sources to meet technical and procurement specifications for maintenance needs.
7. Manage spares requests in collaboration with Production Controllers, Base Maintenance Supervisors, and the Head of Base Maintenance to prioritize and expedite orders.
8. Oversee inventory control throughout the repair and overhaul process, managing areas like warranties, scope of work, quotations, and scrap with MROs.
9. Negotiate with suppliers to achieve cost savings while ensuring reliability, safety, and quality in repairs.
10. Monitor supplier performance, ensuring contractual obligations are met and service quality remains high.
11. Address potential risks in the supply chain, including availability challenges and price fluctuations.
12. Generate detailed monthly reports on maintenance costs, including budget forecasting, for senior leadership.
13. Manage freight forwarding contracts to ensure timely delivery of parts at minimal transportation costs.
14. Research new parts and suppliers to identify opportunities for cost savings through best practices and innovative approaches.
15. Take on additional workload during periods of high activity, such as concurrent maintenance lines, to ensure consistent support for base maintenance operations.
Skills and Knowledge

3. Strong analytical skills with a clear focus on quantifying financial impact.
4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with OASES or similar systems is preferred.
