The Role
Our award-winning Mission Systems Division delivers some of the world’s most advanced aviation IT systems from our office in Lincoln. As a result of our continued success and business expansion, we are delighted to offer this opportunity for a User Requirements Manager to support our exciting and ever-growing range of mission support systems.
As a User Requirements Manager, you will be responsible for supporting our UK and overseas customers, understanding their challenges and engaging with them to support their emerging requirements. You will also provide key inputs into the development of our future systems through both your subject matter expertise and the insights gained once you are effective in the role.
The main duties of the role will include:
* Engagement with customers and end-users, to assist with the generation of requirements.
* Providing technical expertise on our range of mission systems.
* Coordinating the configuration design of our systems, tailored to specific customers’ requirements.
* Ensuring the users’ needs are satisfied by our systems.
* Providing subject matter expert advice and feedback into our Lincoln-based team to influence the development of future products.
* Supporting field support to customers through regular on-site visits, provision of ad-hoc technical support and delivery of training and advice.
* Development of new business opportunities with customers both within the UK and overseas.
The Person
We are looking for a proactive, versatile, confident individual with excellent interpersonal skills, who will relish the opportunity to spend time working closely with our customers. You will have proven military aircrew experience and have ideally undertaken aircrew-oriented instructional roles. A keen interest in the mission systems sector is a must and you will be comfortable working with a range of IT systems.
Although based in the Company Offices in Lincoln, the role will involve periodic visits to customer sites around the UK.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
We require a proactive individual with relevant and recent knowledge and experience of providing solutions aligned to the role requirements defined above.
Evidence of the following would be considered essential:
* A suitably qualified and experienced subject matter expert.
* Have been UK Aircrew (Pilot qualification highly desirable).
* Fixed Wing or Rotary Wing operationally qualified.
* Possess exceptional communication skills.
* Strong IT user skills.
* Be willing to embrace the Inzpire work ethic of loyalty, flexibility and consistently delivering above and beyond our customer’s expectations.
Evidence (including qualifications or certifications) of any of the following would be considered desirable:
* Current UK instructional qualification (e.g. Defence Train the Trainer (Fly) or equivalent).
* Recent operational experience.
* Experience in a customer support role.
* Experience of translating user requirements into tangible deliverables.
* Experience of working closely with system end users to understand and solve problems.
* Experience of requirements management.
* Higher education in STEM subject(s).
* Expert-level user IT skills.
* Exposure to system design concepts.
* Experience of avionic operational management.
Due to the nature of elements of the role, the successful applicant must be a UK National and may be required to successfully complete National Security Vetting which may require criminal record, security service and credit reference checks; qualification will also normally require a minimum UK residency of at least 5 years.
