The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering is currently seeking skilled and enthusiastic Postdoctoral Research Associates to join our Research and Development team. Our team is engaged in a variety of groundbreaking research initiatives, including projects on floating offshore renewable energy platforms, energy storage systems, artificial intelligence/machine learning, digital twins, and blockchain technology for operations and maintenance. This position is part of the METTLE/HIGHESS projects, which aim to develop innovative energy storage systems for renewable energy to accelerate clean energy access and decarbonization. Candidates should possess a PhD (or equivalent professional experience) in an appropriate engineering discipline (Mechanical/Civil/Structural Engineering/Naval Architecture/Renewable Energy), as well as experience in modelling and simulation of offshore renewable energy and energy storage systems. The post is fixed term and is available until 28 February 2026. If you are still awaiting your PhD to be awarded you will be appointed at Grade 6, spine point 30. Upon written confirmation that you have been awarded your PhD, your salary will be increased to Grade 7, spine point 31.
