Ground Investigation Engineer - Belfast About the Role We are seeking a Ground Investigation Engineer to join our Geo-Environmental team in Belfast. This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious individual to become part of our established and growing regional team, which is part of our 100-strong and expanding national geo-environmental resource. Our team provides ground investigation and geo-environmental consultancy services to a wide range of private and public sector clients in the development, health, education, defence, and infrastructure sectors. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting with the design, procurement, supervision, and management of geotechnical and geo-environmental ground investigations. Key Responsibilities Desk Studies: Conduct desk study assessments. Data Collection: Accurately collect site data. Reporting: Produce detailed factual and interpretative reports. Monitoring: Undertake ground gas and groundwater monitoring and assessments. Skills, Knowledge, and Experience Educational Background: Degree in geology, engineering geology, or a relevant environmental science discipline. Experience: Experience in ground investigation, including scoping, set-up, logging, supervision, laboratory scheduling, groundwater and ground gas monitoring, and factual reporting. Travel: Willingness to travel for ground investigation works, with at least 50% of the role being site-based, which may involve overnight stays. Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, fully IT literate, with the ability to write clear, concise, and technically robust reports. Health & Safety: Good understanding of health, safety, and environmental management as applied to ground investigation. Driving License: Full, preferably clean, driving license. Teamwork: Strong social, interpersonal, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
