Main duties of the job
The role includes providing specialist advice and participating in training on Looked after Children to all staff within North East London Foundation Trust who come into contact, or work directly with children and their families.
* Complete review health assessments for children and young people and ensure effective implementation of health care plans for individual children.
* Assist the Specialist Nurse for Looked After Children in implementing Government guidance on promoting physical, mental and emotional health of looked after children and young people through targeted health interventions.
* Take an active part in supporting the organisation with audit and data collection as required.
* Attend complex Statutory reviews and ensure all assessments and plans are of a high quality for submission to the Local Authority.

* Registered Nurse / Registered Children's Nurse
* Experience of working with Children in Care
* Community experience
* Specialist Community Practitioner School Nursing / Health Visiting
* Recognise and respond appropriately to child safeguarding concerns
* Assess health needs, initiate plan and evaluate programmes of care
* Experience working with diverse communities
* Commitment to own personal and professional development
* Able to travel efficiently throughout NELFT
* Ability to prioritise and manage time and workload
* Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
* Ability to demonstrate understanding of current policies and procedures relating to Children In Care
* An understanding of the health needs for looked after children
* An understanding of legislation or supporting documents for looked after children
* Able to demonstrate Trust Values
