HEAD OF BUILDING SAFETY AND COMPLIANCE (FTC – 6 months)
National role hybrid – home/office/travel

Our client, a not-for-profit housing association, requires a Head of Building Safety and Compliance Manager. The role is working on a FTC basis for 6 months reporting into the Director of Building Safety and Compliance.
As a member of the senior compliance team, you will be responsible for ensuring all compliance across the Group, ensuring all legislation is met and properties are safe and compliant.
The role oversees field-based building safety and compliance teams that are based nationally. The role can be worked on a hybrid/remote basis with alignment to a local office including travel as required.

RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Manage the Building Safety Team and ensure compliance with the Building Safety Act.
2. Manage the compliance for all properties, including high-rise buildings, ensuring adherence to the Building Safety Act.
3. Manage a team of approximately 10 people within the Compliance team.
4. Deliver the strategic plan across the Group by managing and developing your teams, building relationships, and working with key stakeholders.
5. Take the lead on developing, delivering, and maintaining the national framework of compliance.
6. Keep up to date and informed with emerging legislation and technologies to manage risks.
7. Ensure a zero-tolerance policy to non-conformance is maintained.
8. Be responsible for reporting and analysis, providing assurance to the Executive team and the Board.
REQUIREMENTS
1. Significant experience working for a Housing Association or Local Authority in a senior leadership role.
2. Strong strategic leadership experience with substantial experience of managing geographically dispersed teams.
3. Strong communication skills with proven experience of senior stakeholder liaison and relationship building, including report writing and analysis for the Board and Executive.
4. Qualifications to include CIOB Level 6, RICS, NEBOSH, and experience with high-rise buildings would be highly desirable.
5. Previous experience in a similar role with knowledge of the Building Safety Act and strong technical knowledge.
6. Previous experience of Contractor management.
7. Full driving licence with the flexibility to travel nationally to meetings and offices as required.
