Award-winning, market-leading engineering organisation, multi-disciplinary experts in sectors including rail, telecoms and power distribution, require an Environmental Advisor for their rail division.
The role:
1. Give environmental advice to colleagues within the business
2. Assist / carry out investigations for any on-site environmental incidents
3. Conduct site inspections
4. Arrange, review and carry out environmental desktop surveys, walkabouts and site surveys in order to support Environmental and Social Appraisal (ESA/ESMP) development
5. Arrange Preliminary Environmental Appraisals (PEA's), which will support ESA/ESMP production
6. Head up the production of ESA/ESMP's for projects
7. Produce mitigation plans and reports based on surveys carried out, including Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS)
8. Review environmental surveys and share results / findings with colleagues
9. Support with the implementation of environmental schemes
10. Ensure compliance with ISO4001 by helping to maintain the integrated management system
11. Produce reports on matters related to sustainability, CSR and environmental for regulatory bodies
12. Assist with environmental audits and accreditations
13. Support provision and delivery of environmental training and briefings
14. Assist with protected species licences and liaise with Natural England
15. Assess and update Environmental Awareness and Impact Register
Requirements:
1. Experience as an Environmental Advisor, ideally within the rail sector
2. PTS
3. IEMA
4. Strong knowledge of environmental best practice and legislation
5. Driving licence
