First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Product Engineer on behalf of one of our clients.
This role will provide engineering support to product updates, obsolescence management, supplier and quality issues, production issues, technical troubleshooting and the introduction of new product lines. The engineering support will be cross functional so will include mechanical as well as electronic and software support to an extent.

Duties and Responsibilities for the Product Engineer – Underwater Systems:
1. Able to triage faults or problems with mechanical parts and assemblies as well as troubleshooting with electronics or software installations.
2. Work with the design authority team to resolve more complicated issues.
3. To be the key liaison with the quality team to provide technical information, conduct fault analysis, manage supplier technical issues including obsolescence and drawing updates.
4. Work with the production/process/ continuous improvement engineers to maintain and improve the production process for the production of new products.
5. Design or source tools, hardware jigs etc that are needed for production.
6. Support the engineering design team on the development, testing and introduction of new accessories and products.
Skills and Qualifications for the Product Engineer – Underwater Systems:
7. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering or other related engineering field or comparable education and experience.
8. Evidence of a general engineering background within the development or production of a technical product (containing electronics and software) is essential.
9. Required to work within a multidisciplinary engineering team, liaising with mechanical, electronics and software engineers as well as supporting production and quality engineers.
10. Familiarity with electronic sensing and control products, preferably in marine or harsh environment would be of a benefit.
11. CAD design training, preferably in SolidWorks.
Location: Melksham
Salary: £35,000 – £45,000
