We are working with a profitable HealthTech business to hire a fully remote Legal Director.
They are a leading provider of digital healthcare services in the UK, delivering services through mobile applications and technology platforms. The company works with a network of contracted medical professionals, and its clients include major insurers, financial services providers, large corporates, NHS practices, and private patients.
Job Purpose:
Reporting directly to the CEO, this role will work closely with compliance teams (Information Security & Privacy) and senior stakeholders, handling a wide range of contractual and commercial legal matters.
Main Responsibilities:
* Lead a small in-house team of lawyers
* Provide strategic legal advice to senior management
* Draft, negotiate, and advise on a broad range of commercial agreements.
* Oversee corporate transactions, employment matters, and dispute resolution, liaising with external legal advisors
* Ensure compliance with corporate governance and regulatory requirements
* Advise senior stakeholders on regulatory updates relevant to the business
Additional Responsibilities:
* Conduct legal risk assessments and identify proactive solutions
* Review and advise on company policies and procedures
* Support development teams on third-party licensing matters (e.g., FOSS)
* Provide guidance on contractual obligations across operational functions
Key Skills & Experience:
* Qualified solicitor, barrister, or legal executive with a valid practising certificate with a minimum of 7PQE
* Strong experience in commercial contracts, particularly in a regulated industry.
* Deep experience with Technology Licencing
* Familiarity with IP and data protection issues, especially in relation to analytics and data sharing
* Some exposure to corporate transactions, employment law, and dispute resolution is beneficial
* Highly organised, proactive, and able to work autonomously
* Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Desirable Experience:
* Familiarity with OneTrust for legal risk assessments
* Interest in CQC regulations, medical device laws, and AI regulatory developments
