We currently have a vacancy for a Relief Scheme Assistant to join our team at Canal Street, Perth. Our Perth service is registered with the Care Inspectorate to provide housing support to enable older people, and people who have conditions which would normally be associated with ageing, to live independently in their own homes.
As part of your role, you will regularly liaise with tenants, their families and other Health and Social Care Teams so patience, empathy and understanding are required along with excellent people and verbal and written communication skills and an understanding of the importance of confidentiality.
You will be responsible for writing, reviewing and updating tenant's support plans, carrying out risk assessments and a variety of other administrative and housing tasks so good basic IT skills and the ability to record information clearly, concisely and legibly are essential.
The team are responsible for the health, safety and wellbeing of the tenants, staff and visitors in the building so carrying out fire, health, safety and security checks will be a regular part of your duties as will some domestic tasks.
You will be responsible for serving meals to those of our tenants who attend the communal dining room at lunch and teatime and you will also organise or take part in social activities for our tenants.
Hours of work will be as required and will include evenings and weekends. We will always try to give you as much notice as possible when we call you but as this post is to cover sickness as well as annual leave, some shifts may be offered at short notice.
As this is a registered service, the successful candidate must be prepared to;
Join the PVG (Protection of Vulnerable Groups) scheme run by Disclosure Scotland. Caledonia Housing Association will meet the cost of this.
Register with the SSSC (Scottish Social Services Council) within the appropriate timescale. Caledonia Housing Association will refund the cost of your registration which requires to be renewed annually.
Registration with the SSSC requires that the holder of this post either holds or will undertake a SVQ level 2 in Care within an agreed timescale. Caledonia Housing Association will provide the training and support required to complete this award and will meet the cost of you completing this qualification.
