We are currently recruiting for an experienced Procurement Officer - Working for a leading housing Association based in Coventry - Paying £32,000pa - 6 months FTC - Hybrid working is available. Working 36.25 hours a week Monday - Friday with flexible start and finish times!
ACCOUNTABILITIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
* Establish and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders to support delivery of Procurement objectives.
* Conduct market competition and manage the evaluation across a cross-functional team to determine supplier selection.
* Understand business requirements and structure deals to meet those requirements.
* Use spend analytics to identify spend outside Procurement management, work with the wider team to identify opportunities to improve delivery of value/cost avoidance or savings and mitigate risk.
* Identify and document risks, issues, and opportunities.
* Negotiate deals to achieve optimal commercial terms.
* Draft contracts based on standard terms and conditions.
* Build relationships with key suppliers.
* Adhere to the corporate standards and applicable legislative frameworks, including using the defined sourcing tools and processes in the delivery of sourcing initiatives. Promote compliance with business processes.
* Support the organisation in the preparation and publication of applicable notices (as per Procurement Act 2023) and other applicable legislation.
* Identify and implement opportunities to deliver savings for clients and drive benefits through smarter/efficient sourcing (this includes spend analytics, contract registers including commencement and expiry dates, renewal and termination provisions).
* Promote the use of frameworks where this represents better value for money for the organisation.
GENERAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
Essential
* CIPS qualified or working towards CIPS
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Strong organisational skills.
* A solid understanding of Procurement Processes.
* Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative.
* Ability to prioritise a varied workload and work under pressure to meet deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
* Project Management skills.
* Problem solving skills.
* Good user-level knowledge of MS Office programmes, particularly Excel and Word.
* Experience of working in a procurement environment.
