An opportunity has arisen for a skilled CNC Miller programmer, setter, operator to join an award-winning heritage engineering company based in Nottinghamshire.
The right person should be able to competently programme, set and operate CNC Milling machines for production and have previous experience working within a high precision manufacturing machine shop environment.
Day to day duties
1. Machining complex parts and components from various general engineering materials such as Aluminium, Alloy Steel, Stainless Steel, Inconel, and Titanium.
2. Reading engineering drawings.
3. Changing tooling.
4. Inspecting components.
5. Using measuring equipment such as micrometers, plug gauges, verniers, screw plugs and ring gauges.
6. Working as part of a team.
The Candidate must:
1. Have solid experience in programming CNC Milling machines.
2. Have previous operating/setting and machining experience with large sized components using Heidenhain controls.
3. Be fully conversant with reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
4. Be competent in producing high quality components.
5. Be able to use engineering measuring equipment such as micrometers and verniers.
6. Have strong communication and time management skills.
7. Be able to work under own initiative.
8. Be a team player.
The ideal candidate
1. Can program, set and operate using Heidenhain control systems.
2. Has the ability to write and edit programs.
3. Can work towards tight tolerances.
4. Has experience with medium/large volume batch work of large components.
5. Confident in working on parts up to 2m in length, using lifting equipment provided.
6. Must have served an apprenticeship in CNC machining and be able to produce your papers or demonstrate 10 years working experience within your work history.
7. Excellent working knowledge of 3-4 axis CNC machines, cutting speeds and feeds, geometric tolerances.
8. ISO experience would be beneficial.
