About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced, motivated Production Team Leader to work on our sleeving side and report directly to the Supervisor of sleeving. This is a hands-on role that assists in the daily running of the production operation.
The role reports to the Sleeving Production Manager.
As a Production Team Leader, you will be responsible for facilitating the smooth running of the operation and daily achievement of service levels.
This includes the following responsibilities:
* Follow production instructions to assemble products or components according to client specifications
* Inspect parts and components before and after assembly to ensure they meet quality standards
* Operate production equipment to manufacture goods according to specifications
* Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards
* Remove defective or faulty products and ensure they are properly addressed
* Pack completed products for shipping, ensuring they are correctly labelled and handled
* Track materials and components needed for assembly
* Request additional materials when needed, or help with stocking the necessary inventory
* Report safety hazards or malfunctions to Supervisors
* Work in collaboration with other team members and departments to meet production targets
* Communicate effectively with Supervisors or other departments if issues arise during the assembly process
* Identify problems during assembly and address minor issues, such as misaligned parts or incorrect fittings
* Label and prepare items according to organisational and shipping standards
* Report any persistent problems to supervisors or maintenance teams
* Fully report any stock losses, damages to product or equipment and concerns to the Sleeving Production Manager or Supervisor
* Provide training and coaching of staff when instructed by their line manager
* Maintain high levels of professionalism in all communications with colleagues, clients and site visitors
* Prioritise tasks effectively to ensure service levels are met daily
* Ensure high standards of housekeeping in the warehouse to ensure tidiness, safety and productivity
* Ensure all health and safety measures are adhered to by all employees
* Maintain an organised workspace and store finished products properly to avoid damage
* Ensure the production area remains clean and organized to comply with safety regulations
* Keep stock safely stored in accessible locations
* Communicate all updates and progress to line manager to facilitate collaboration and effective planning
* Conduct any other duties as required to ensure the smooth running of the warehouse and production operation
* When required, the Team Leader deputises for the Production Supervisor and completes additional responsibilities such as locking/unlocking the premises
