Our Supported Living Services needs you!
Your support is essential to helping our adults maintain the independence they work so hard to achieve every day.
In this role, you'll support the Registered Manager with daily operations while also providing invaluable support to both our dedicated team and the adults we support. If you’re seeking a varied role where every day brings something new, this could be the perfect fit!
You’ll have a meaningful impact, whether you’re helping someone explore employment and educational opportunities, working with them to achieve their personal goals, or simply enjoying a fun day out together—like attending a festival or singing karaoke in the lounge!
You will face challenges, but nothing beats the feeling of supporting someone to maintain their independence daily. You’ll potentially need to support someone in unexpected ways and offer emotional guidance when needed. You really do need to be open-minded, empathetic, and resilient.
A day in the life of a Deputy Manager will involve:
* You’ll be supporting the Registered Manager with recruitment, team supervisions, meetings, and inspections, ensuring continued compliance with relevant legislation.
* Spending a good amount of time helping the manager making sure the team they manage have the skills, experience and training they need to be the best support possible for the adults in your care.
* You’ll be supporting our adults to keep their independence and have the best quality of life possible. Working with the team to arrange and plan activities, whether it be cooking in their home, fun days out, or holidays with them.
* Plus, you’ll be on the shared rota for ‘on call’.
To be a successful Deputy Manager, you’ll need:
* Level 3 in Health and Social or willingness to work towards within the 1st year of your role.
* Someone that is confident, flexible, resilient, and not afraid of the challenges that working in support may bring, with an understanding of the 24-hour nature of the sector and a willingness to partake in the ‘on call’ rota.
* A minimum of two years’ experience in working with adults in a supported living/care setting is essential, ideally with experience of supervising teams. Knowledge of relevant legislation; working procedures and the ability to demonstrate sound communication and leadership skills.
If return for your time, you’ll get:
* Holidays – You’ll get 28 days annual leave. You’ll also get an extra day off for your birthday after your first year with us.
* Pension scheme – Our pension scheme is based on you paying in 5%, and us adding 3%.
* Learning & Development Opportunities – We provide comprehensive learning opportunities for team members to develop themselves.
* Discounts – You’ll have access to brilliant discounts through the Blue Light Card and our own employee benefits platform.
* Wellbeing Support – Your wellbeing is always our priority. You’ll have access to mental health and wellbeing support. On top of this, our therapies team offers a monthly confidential check in clinic, and group reflective practice sessions.
* Cycle2Work -The cycle to work scheme enables you to buy a bicycle at a discounted rate.
* DBS – As this role required you to have an enhanced DBS carried out, we will cover this cost.
After 12 months service you’ll also be eligible for our Medicash scheme which covers a wide range of medical, health and wellbeing expenses (Including immediate access to a GP!). You’ll get life assurance paid at x2 your annual salary.
Please note that as part of our safer recruitment processes, successful applicants will be subject to pre-employment checks including an enhanced disclosure and barring service (DBS) check, and online and social media checks, and reference validation.
