As a Department Manager, you will take ownership of our warehouse operation, ensuring stock is received, picked, and dispatched efficiently and accurately. You will lead a team, drive performance against KPIs, and make key decisions to ensure service levels to our stores remain high. Working on the night shift, you'll manage a range of activities from ensuring smooth daily operations to fostering a high-performance culture within your team. Lead and motivate a team of up to 10 direct reports, driving peak performance and maximising the efficiency of warehouse operations, including receiving, picking, and despatching stock. Monitor and manage KPIs, performance targets, and budgets to ensure throughput and service levels meet required standards. Make quick, tactical decisions on the night shift to resolve operational issues that may impact product availability or service levels. Ensure adherence to Health & Safety standards and drive a culture of safety, compliance, and shrinkage reduction. Foster a positive working environment, maintaining strong team communication, recognition, and support to promote a collaborative culture. What you’ll need to have Ideally, you have a proven background in a similar role within a large-scale operation, managing multiple staff members in a warehouse or distribution setting. A proven track record of managing and motivating teams to meet performance targets and drive operational success. Familiar with warehouse processes, systems, and workflows, and have experience in fast-paced, high-volume environments. Experience with managing budgets, controlling costs, and driving performance against KPIs. Capable of making quick and effective decisions in a fast-moving environment, working autonomously to ensure the warehouse runs at maximum capacity. Strong cross-functional communication skills, building relationships with internal teams to ensure smooth operations. Health & Safety experience and knowledge is essential, with any relevant certifications seen as an advantage. Experience with warehouse automation, WMS (Warehouse Management Systems), and eCommerce operations would be beneficial.
