Financial Planning and Analysis Manager
We are seeking an experienced Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) Manager to support the Head of Internal Financial Reporting in our financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting efforts. This role is central to providing insightful financial data and recommendations to senior management, supporting strategic initiatives, and aligning financial goals with business objectives. This role will manage financial models, improve FP&A processes, and play a key role in the company's financial decision-making.
Main Accountabilities
1. Internal Reporting: Support the Head of Internal Financial Reporting in producing monthly internal financial reports for senior leadership, providing clear analysis on business performance, including profitability and cash flow.
2. Assisting in the production of any ad hoc analysis and commentaries as required by Exco and the Group Board.
3. Variance Analysis: Identify and analyse variances between forecasts and actuals, providing executive-level commentary.
4. Produce accurate data including relative performance of divisions against competitors and third-party benchmarks.
5. Process Improvement: Collaborate with the Finance Systems Project Manager to enhance FP&A processes and implement innovative financial analysis approaches and maximise the benefit of OneStream to the FP&A function.
6. Budgeting & Forecasting: Support the budgeting, forecasting and planning of Group profit & loss, balance sheet and cashflow working closely with the business unit finance teams.
7. Working closely with the divisions on all internal financial reporting, budgeting and planning issues.
8. Optimise the use of Power BI to produce reports and dashboards at Divisional and Board levels.
9. Create exception reports on contract trends to identify any abnormal contract delivery and cost performance.
10. Ad Hoc Projects: Engage in high-impact projects, such as potential M&A evaluations and cost-saving initiatives.
Required Knowledge and Experience
1. Qualifications: ACA, CIMA, or ACCA qualified accountant.
2. Experience: Experience in FP&A, ideally within the construction industry, with strong technical accounting expertise.
3. Skills: Proficient in Excel and financial modelling, with strong analytical, presentation, and communication skills. Experience with OneStream is a plus.
4. Personal Attributes: Meticulous, adaptable, with a collaborative approach and a commitment to data-driven decision-making. Working independently to tight deadlines.
