Business Development Manager – Investment Management
Opportunity:
To be a key member of the front office team of the Investment Management business, located in Jersey, responsible for bringing new business in the Capital International investment management proposition.
What you’ll do:
1. To grow AUM in our investment products and services delivered via our Jersey and Isle of Man investment management teams.
2. To have a key role in the discretionary business development strategy.
3. To provide investment proposals to new and existing clients using our risk profiler.
4. To include active networking locally and internationally with travel to key target markets in order to build relationships with Trustees and Advisors and to enhance Capital International’s reputation.
5. Establish key advisor/institutional client partnerships and seek suitable books of business.
6. Hosting face to face and virtual meetings, seminars/webinars and events.
7. Provide demonstrations to clients, trustees or and advisors on investment management products and systems.
8. Meet or surpass sales targets set at the beginning of the year, and fulfil other objectives as agreed from time to time.
9. Work with the Investment Management team to ensure client relationships are established, maintained and retained with excellence.
10. Support relevant BD focused social media activity, including writing relevant BD and investment related blogs.
11. Maintain good understanding of relevant risk management and compliance processes and procedures relevant to the activities of the BD team.
12. Generate new business projects and initiatives, constantly thinking of new innovative ideas for increasing sales.
13. Actively explore cross selling opportunities for Group products.
14. Reflect with integrity the values of CIG as part of its public facing profile.

What you’ll need to succeed:
15. Proven track record and experience of successful business development within a discretionary investment business; an existing network of professional contacts in the financial advisory and/or fiduciary sectors in Jersey and if relevant other jurisdictions.
16. Technical product knowledge; knowledge of funds and investments; and knowledge and understanding of ESG and sustainable investments.
17. A finance or investment qualification.
18. Presentation skills – to both small and larger audiences of clients; wide knowledge of financial services industry and global markets;
19. Confident; self-starter; ambitious; relationship builder
