Role Overview:
The Lead PI Consultant will be responsible for overseeing the design and implementation of a comprehensive low voltage structured cabling system for the office refurbishment. This role requires a seasoned professional with extensive experience in cabling design, project management, and collaboration with multiple stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of the project.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design and Planning:
o Lead the design of physical infrastructure to support new IT structured cabling for high and low-level services.
o Develop schematic designs, construction documents, and detailed design plans in compliance with DCS Design Standards.
o Ensure designs accommodate future needs and growth, including CCTV, AV, Wi-Fi, and Building Management Network (BMN) sensors.
* Project Management:
o Coordinate with DCS Division and other project stakeholders to manage the installation work.
o Oversee the buildout of two new Telecommunication Equipment Rooms (TERs) and ensure integration with existing infrastructure.
o Manage project timelines, milestones, and deliverables, ensuring adherence to the schedule and quality standards.
* Collaboration and Communication:
o Act as the primary point of contact.
o Facilitate weekly status meetings and provide regular project updates to stakeholders.
o Ensure compliance with Third Party Risk Management (TPRM) process and supplier policies.
* Technical Oversight:
o Provide technical guidance and oversight during the installation phase, ensuring adherence to industry standards and best practices.
o Conduct quality inspections and ensure all work complies with EIA/TIA, ANSI, NFPA, and other relevant standards.
o Manage the testing and acceptance of the cabling system, ensuring all components meet specified performance criteria.
* Documentation and Reporting:
o Prepare and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including design drawings, test results, and as-built records.
o Submit regular project reports and ensure all documentation is aligned with requirements.
Required Skills & Experience:
* Technical Expertise:
o Extensive knowledge of low voltage structured cabling systems, including design and implementation.
o Familiarity with CommScope structured cabling products and systems, particularly the SYSTIMAX end-to-end system.
o Proficiency in industry standards such as EIA/TIA, ANSI, NFPA, and BICSI standards.
* Project Management:
o Proven experience in managing large-scale cabling projects, particularly in live production environments.
o Ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders, including Bank’s Group DCS Division, General Contractors, and other professional teams.
o Strong skills in developing and managing project timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
* Design and Planning:
o Experience in designing physical infrastructure to support IT structured cabling for high and low-level services.
o Ability to develop schematic designs, construction documents, and detailed design plans.
o Capability to ensure designs accommodate future needs and growth, including integration of CCTV, AV, Wi-Fi, and BMN sensors.
* Quality Assurance and Compliance:
o Experience in conducting quality inspections and ensuring compliance with DCS Design Standards and Third Party Risk Management (TPRM) process.
o Ability to manage testing and acceptance of cabling systems, ensuring all components meet specified performance criteria.
* Communication and Collaboration:
o Strong communication and interpersonal skills to act as the primary point of contact between contractors, and other stakeholders.
o Ability to facilitate meetings, provide regular project updates, and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.
* Minimum of 10 years of experience in structured cabling design and project management.
* Extensive knowledge of CommScope structured cabling products and systems.
* Certification in BICSI RCDD (Registered Communications Distribution Designer) is preferred.
* Proven track record of managing large-scale cabling projects in live production environments.
