JOB DESCRIPTION Post Title: Head of Music Salary/Grade: TLR 2B Working time: 195 days per year – Full time Purpose: To develop, to organise and play a full part in a busy extra-curricular programme, establishing a choir, orchestra and different bands. To be an inspirational leader with a clear vision on how to further develop music within school. To raise standards of student attainment and achievement within the whole curriculum area and to monitor and support student progress To develop and enhance the teaching practice of others To ensure the provision of an appropriately broad, balanced, relevant differentiated curriculum for students studying in the department, in accordance with the aims of the school and the curricular policies determined by the Governing Body and Headteacher of the school To be accountable for leading, managing and developing the subject curriculum area To be accountable for student progress and development within the subject area To effectively manage the human, financial and physical resources within the department to support the designated curriculum portfolio Reporting to: Head of Faculty Responsible for: Subject teachers and other relevant staff The provision of a full learning experience and support for pupils within the subject Liaising with: Departmental staff, relevant non-teaching support staff, representatives of external agencies and parents The full job description, personal specification and other relevant documents can be found here: {link to dropbox}
