As part of the Secure Care physical health team, you will provide patient care to our patients across the areas detailed below:
1. Ashworth Hospital - High Secure: Ashworth Hospital is one of three high secure hospitals in the country, providing comprehensive, multidisciplinary treatment & care for patients with a mental illness & who have been assessed as presenting a grave & immediate danger to others.
2. Rowan View - Medium Secure: Rowan View provides specialist Learning Disability & Mental Health services over 8 wards, focusing on relational security & individualized therapeutic care.
3. Rathbone Hospital (Liverpool) and Hollins Park (Warrington) - Low Secure: These units provide mental health rehabilitation for men and women, balancing therapy & security to prepare service users for independent life in the community.
4. Aspen Wood - Low Secure: A new 40 bed specialist learning disability unit providing care for those needing the lowest level of security.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Operate radio communications when required and be conversant with the hospital network procedure.
2. Competently perform venepuncture / ECGs within the Health Centre and at ward level as directed by the requesting clinicians.
3. Provide support to the health centre and administration staff.
4. Respond appropriately to emergency situations.
5. Ensure that the Department achieves the Core Search Standards and liaise directly with the Security Department when necessary.
6. Undertake patient searches as per security procedures and report any adverse circumstances to the nurse in charge.
7. Escort patients from ward to clinical environments across all sites using radio communication equipment.
8. Undertake full control and restraint training, manage situations of actual and potential C&R issues.
9. Demonstrate excellent interpersonal communication skills to communicate factual information to patients.
10. Work collaboratively, sharing knowledge and experience with peers to provide support through teamwork.
11. Maintain awareness of patients' well-being, considering mental, physical, security, and potential violent issues.
12. Maintain responsibility for the health and safety aspects of the environment for yourself, colleagues, and visitors.
13. Assist with the delivery of Health Promotion and support clinicians with various clinics.
14. Work within the current policies and procedures throughout the hospital and Trust.
