Job Overview:
We are looking for a resilient, positive, and engaging People Advisor to support with the delivery of all aspects of the colleague lifecycle. An integral part of the team, you will build strong and credible relationships with colleagues and managers across our two sites whether that’s through managing colleague related case work, recruitment and onboarding or colleague engagement.
This is a permanent, full time position working 36.5 hours (hybrid working Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday on site and Monday & Friday from home).
Key Responsibilities:
•Act as the first port of call for internal People Team queries managing inboxes to ensure responses are comprehensive and timely
•Support with employee relation case management providing accurate, fair and consistent advice particularly relating to absence or performance management and disciplinary issues
•Lead on employee engagement to support a culture of commitment, integrity and wellbeing
•Support with effective recruitment campaigns and assessment to secure the right person for the role
•Coach and support line managers to develop people skills and become confident in implementing processes and policies, effectively bringing them to life
•Prepare people metrics in collaboration with the People Partners to support data driven decision making
•Own all administrative tasks relating to People Team activities
Skills and Experience:
Ideally you will have previous experience in a similar role or perhaps as an established HR/People Team Assistant looking for progression - experience of providing relevant advice on policy and process to line managers and colleagues is definately desirable.
Or you may be a manager with lots of people management experience, used to dealing with employee relation cases and interested in a new career.
Either way you need to be a confident communicator and have excellent time management and personal organisational skills. This is a hands-on role in a busy team, so these skills are essential for managing the various workloads and excellent attention to detail is also expected.
It’s important in this role to do the ‘right’ thing and not the ‘easiest’ thing – being able to influence and coach managers so they are confident in having difficult conversations or to make decisions they’d rather defer to someone else is not always easy, but very much part of this role.
Being proficient in using Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint and having excellent literacy and numeracy skills is also key.
A CIPD Level 3 (or greater) qualification would be advantageous or the desire to undertake this as an apprenticeship / professional qualification.
