Job summary Our Central Production Catering operatives have a passion for ensuring high standards of cleanliness and safety. The work involves ,picking and packing of food, working in a chiller and liaison with the wards. The post holder will require maintaining good food hygiene standards for patients, staff and visitors to the Trust in accordance with individual sites processes. Good housekeeping and cleaning practices are maintained to a professional standard promoting a professional image to patients and visitors promoting the Trust vision and values. Use of industrial and light equipment and machinery is required within the central production unit. Main duties of the job Ensure codes of practice for HACCP and food safety are followed as per site training Replenish stock Able to follow the pick sheet when picking and packing food for the wards Appropriate removal of food waste (as per site process) using designated waste and recycling streams Work within store rooms, walk in chillers and freezers Be able to work in wash up areas when required Temperatures of cooked foods is recorded, along with chilled and frozen storage using the designated HACCP sheets Supplier deliveries are checked against temperature and quality. Failures reported to Supervisors and Managers for rejection Handling cleaning chemicals in accordance with COSHH and training provided Check dates and rotation of food accordingly within the working area Maintain excellent cleaning standards within the working area following cleaning schedules supplied Record appropriate food waste and report high levels of waste to supervisors About us We are recognised as one of the leading NHS Foundation Trusts in the UK.
